What can you do if you’re sick of your 9-to-5 job and want to make money online? The answer, fortunately, is a lot more than you might think. With the right mix of effort and online tools and opportunities, you can earn as much as you want while enjoying the comfort of your own home (or favorite coffee shop). Use these 10 proven ways to make money online as your starting point, then tweak them to fit your interests and skills. You’ll be earning extra cash in no time.

1) Affiliate Marketing for Make Money Online

Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways to make money online. In affiliate marketing, you recommend someone else’s products, services or content and get paid a commission if you convert a sale. With affiliate marketing, you’re not creating your own product or service—you’re recommending other people’s products and making money by doing so.

One of my most popular posts on Quick Sprout was an Ultimate Guide to Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing that I wrote in 2013. It covers everything from finding good offers to building an email list and generating traffic with SEO tactics. The post has done well because it teaches readers how they can create their own online business without having to worry about technical stuff like hosting, domains, etc. This way, they don’t have to pay anyone else (like me) when they want to start their own business online.

2) Get a Job for Make Money Online

Try Freelancing If all else fails, it may be time to get yourself a job. According to studies from Entrepreneur and Upwork , freelancers earned over $1 billion in 2014 and are expected to earn even more in 2015. Most of these jobs will require you start by making connections with clients via LinkedIn or e-mail. The more business skills you can offer—copywriting, content creation, marketing expertise—the better your chances are of landing one of these online jobs.

3) Create your own business

While affiliate marketing can help you make money online, and while starting an online business is an attractive proposition—being your own boss, setting your own hours, managing your time and being free of a commute—online businesses are not a good fit for everyone. If you need guaranteed paychecks (aka a job) there are other ways to make money online. Online businesses can take time to get going, and most will require ongoing maintenance. Further, most businesses take months or years before they begin earning any money. Don’t know how to manage people? You’ll have to learn on top of everything else that comes with starting an online business—that’s something many aspiring entrepreneurs simply don’t want to do.

4) Resell on Amazon

For make money online you need a Online jobs. Online jobs require very little set-up time, and they’re simple enough that you can even complete them on your smartphone—although a desktop computer is better. If you want to make money online by selling products from Amazon, start by searching their catalog of products. Once you find something people usually buy together (like batteries and toothpaste), add it to your cart, go through checkout, then send customers directly to Amazon using an affiliate link (the link will be provided after signing up).

You get paid a commission for every sale made through your link. You can even use social media platforms like Facebook or Pinterest if you don’t have an e-commerce site or store yet. Just remember that affiliate marketing isn’t passive income—you still need to do some work in order to earn money from it!

5) Sell secondhand items

Selling on Amazon is a great way to make money online from items you no longer need. You can earn extra cash while decluttering your home, and all you have to do is ship them off when they’re sold! If you’re looking to get serious about selling on Amazon, check out our post on getting started with Amazon FBA.

6) Drop Shipping Business

I’m a big fan of starting a drop shipping business, as it requires only a few hundred dollars, uses no inventory and can be started with just an ecommerce store (no technical skills required). Drop shipping has been around for years, but it’s finally getting more attention than ever. One of my favorite blogs is Case Study Empire, where Alina Wheeler provides incredible resources on starting your own drop shipping business.

It’s not hard to understand why drop shipping is so popular—if you know what you’re doing (which can take some time), it allows you to make money without holding inventory or even knowing how to create a website.

7) Become a freelance writer

If you’re interested in writing as a career, freelance writing is one way to make money. By writing product reviews or articles for blogs or magazines, you can turn your passion into a paycheck. Check out our free course on how to become a freelance writer . You’ll learn how to find freelance jobs and make money online by working from home.

8) Provide an Affordable Service

Instead of charging clients a large amount of money, pick an affordable rate that everyone can afford. Remember, you want your business to be accessible and open to everyone, not just those who have more than enough funds. However, you don’t want your services so low that you won’t make enough income from it to sustain yourself. To make sure you’re providing enough value in your service, let us ask ourselves these questions: Who is my target market? What are their biggest problems? How can I solve their problems and provide them with an affordable service?

9) Open an Etsy Shop

Etsy is a popular online shop that allows you to sell your products directly through their website. They allow you to customize your shop with photographs, descriptions and more. Etsy also makes it easy to set up a quick payment system so buyers can purchase your products immediately. Making money online through Etsy is not difficult. You do have some options on what kind of fees you pay if you are selling products, but those may be waived depending on how many sales you make per month and other factors. Overall, opening an Etsy shop is relatively simple and easy to do.

10) Start an Upwork profile

Creating an Upwork profile is easy and free. Although you can freelance in any industry, some gigs are obviously more desirable than others. You’ll need to be able to talk about what you do well and how you’ll be able to help potential clients. You can also check out Quora Answers if you want a quick way of making some money with your writing skills; I’ve personally been paid for answering questions on there before.
